Evgeny Sivtsov

He lives in New York, playing mostly with his own projects.

He was born in Moscow in 1987. By the time of his departure from Russia at age 21, he had played with some of the best Russian Jazz musicians, such as Larissa Dolina, Igor Butman, Herman Lukyanov, Anatoly Kroll, Georgy Garanian and many others. In the spring of 2008 Evgeny created an ensemble called "DoubleDrumsBand" which featured two drum sets, five horns, bass and piano. He played piano and composed all the music. Distinguishly successful, two concerts took place in Moscow land several months later the CD release followed. In September 2009 the program about Evgeny Sivtsov and his DoubleDrumsBand was broadcast all over the United States by the "Voice of Russia" broadcasting station. Totally, he has recorded three CDs of his own projects and proved himself to be one of the most talented land prominent musicians in the Russian Jazz scene.

Then, while studying in the Netherlands, he performed with some great Dutch musicians, for example, Bert van den Brink in a piano duet at Bimhuis concert hall in Amsterdam and participated in various Jazz competitions where he won awards.
